Poetry and Story - Where life connects | |||
A Sunday afternoon to express, be heard, witness and create. Bring a poem or two that speaks to your life.* In our safe and sacred circle of women, read aloud and tell the related story from your life. In the second half of our time together, let Delta Donohue and Carolyn Jennings guide you to birth images that express your life. Please bring your favorite journal. No writing or poetry experience necessary. Simply open the door to your voice and your life.
*The poem(s) can be your writing or by any poet.
Host Bio: Carolyn Jennings: For over twenty years, Carolyn Jennings (www.WritingOurWings.com) has used her journal as a primary tool for recovery from an eating disorder and in creating a thriving life. This experience inspired her to write the award-winning Hunger Speaks: a memoir told in poetry and to become a Journal to the Self® certified instructor. She now guides others to uncover awareness, wholeness, freedom and abundance through their pens. Delta Donohue: After a successful career in Corporate America, Delta decided to drastically change her life and focus on making our world a better place. She co-directs a non-profit working on behalf of street kids in India and runs a social business partnering with impoverished Indian women. Delta is a published poet and firmly believes that words are powerful and create opportunities for life transformations.
