Free Oasis Evening showing of the movie Stress: Portrait of a Killer (2008) 50 mins, 6-9:00pm, followed by dialogue led by Constance Smith, M.Div., M.A. Counseling.  Come early for refreshments, we'll begin showing movie at 7:00.

The serially overworked already know that stress is a near-constant fixture in modern-day living. Yet, to what degree is stress affecting our bodies and is there any way to healthfully combat it? With a focus on the work of Stanford University neurobiologist Robert Sapolsky, this National Geographic documentary looks at the latest science to see what researchers are learning about this insidiously silent killer.

Through reflections, writing and conversation, you’ll explore this stage of your inner and outer journey. Each of us has a unique story to offer and a voice to be heard. Get to know yourself in a fresh way by adding paint, paper, and glue to your traditional journaling style. Participants will enjoy one hour of interactive instruction and many inspiring examples before digging in.There will be gobs of time to play, experiment, and get messy with fun, colorful materials! This is a great workshop for beginners and those who are just looking for a comfortable spot to create for several hours.
